Stanley Lewczyk

Stanley Casimer Lewczyk ("Stan") died on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the age of 94 during a brief hospital stay. Stan is survived by his wife, Theresa ("Terry"), as well as their six children and their spouses: Daniel and Dana of Baton Rouge, LA; Lawrence and Elizabeth of Holly Lake Ranch, TX; Nancy and Donald of Harleysville, PA; Richard and Barbara of Livermore, CA; Thomas and Elizabeth Ann of Petaluma, CA; and Robert and Amanda of San Jose, CA; along with 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all. Stan and Terry were blessed to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary this fall.

Stan was born in Buffalo, NY on August 12, 1927 — to Polish immigrants Casimer and Ida Lewczyk. He was the fifth of seven children, with four brothers (Joseph, Francis, John, and Stephen) and two sisters (Ida and Mary), who all grew up in Buffalo. He was the last survivor of his siblings.

Following schooling in Buffalo, Stan proudly served in the U.S. Army for three years, from July 1946 to July 1949. After his military service, Stan met the love of his life — Theresa Mary Lesniak — whom he married on September 15, 1951. They remained in Buffalo for ten years, until Stan accepted a position in South Charleston, West Virginia in 1962 with FMC Corporation, moving them and their five children to nearby Saint Albans, WV, where their sixth child was born. St. Albans remained as home until 1978, when Stan accepted a promotion with FMC to Chemical Distribution Center Manager in the Chicago area, relocating him to Oak Forest, IL with Terry and their two youngest children. Stan retired there in 1987. He and Terry stayed in Illinois until settling in Reno, NV in 1992 to enjoy their retirement amidst the great weather, beauty and entertainment of northwestern Nevada, where family relished the fun of regular visits with them throughout the years. Stan and Terry have been members of Saint Therese of the Little Flower Catholic Church in Reno.

Stan was a devoted husband and caring father, who would do anything for his family — always putting his own needs behind those of his wife and children. Stan leaves behind a legacy of devotion, kindness, humor and generosity that will live on through the loving family he leaves behind, as well as those who had the pleasure of knowing Stan.

Arrangements were entrusted to La Paloma Funeral Home in Reno; there was no funeral service. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice in Stanley's name.
